Ravago polypropylene-pp CR C 6044

Ravago Mafill PP-CR C 6044: 60% Glass-Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene

Ravago Mafill PP-CR C 6044 is an ultra-high performance, specialized polypropylene copolymer (PP-C) compound manufactured by Ravago. It is a highly-engineered, reinforced material containing an exceptional 60% glass fiber (GF) content, designed for injection molding of the most demanding structural components. This extreme glass loading provides an unparalleled increase in mechanical properties, making it the top choice for applications that require maximum stiffness, strength, and dimensional stability. This material is a premium candidate for advanced metal replacement, particularly well-suited for parts subjected to extreme static or dynamic loads.

Key Features & Benefits
  • Unprecedented Stiffness: The 60% glass-fiber reinforcement provides a massive increase in flexural modulus, offering a level of rigidity that rivals some engineering plastics and light metals.
  • Superior Tensile & Flexural Strength: Delivers outstanding strength properties, allowing for the design of components that can withstand extreme mechanical stress.
  • Excellent Dimensional Stability: The ultra-high filler content minimizes warpage and shrinkage to an absolute minimum, ensuring exceptional part precision and consistency.
  • High Heat Resistance: Maintains mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, with a very high heat deflection temperature (HDT), making it suitable for the most challenging under-the-hood or high-heat applications.
  • Fatigue & Creep Resistance: The high concentration of glass fibers provides superior resistance to fatigue and creep, ensuring long-term performance under continuous, heavy load.
  • Significant Weight Reduction: Offers a substantial weight advantage over traditional metal parts, a critical factor for automotive and industrial applications focused on weight savings.

Typical Properties (Representative Values)

Please note that specific values may vary slightly depending on the exact production batch and testing conditions. Always refer to the official Technical Data Sheet (TDS) from Ravago for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Property Value Unit Test Method
Density 1.50 g/cm³ ISO 1183
Melt Flow Rate (MFR) (230°C/2.16kg) 2 – 4 g/10 min ISO 1133
Tensile Strength (Break) 160 MPa ISO 527
Flexural Modulus 14,000 MPa ISO 178
Charpy Notched Impact Strength (23°C) 12 kJ/m² ISO 179/1eA
Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) (1.8 MPa) 165 °C ISO 75-2
Shrinkage (Flow) 0.1 – 0.2 % ISO 294-4
Processing Guidelines (General Injection Molding)
  • Drying: Pre-drying is highly recommended at 80°C for 2-4 hours to prevent moisture-related defects.
  • Melt Temperature: 230 – 260 °C. The ultra-high glass content requires a higher melt temperature than un-filled PP.
  • Mold Temperature: 60 – 100 °C.
  • Injection Speed: Use a moderate to high injection speed to ensure good mold filling, followed by high pressure.
  • Screw: A non-return valve and high wear-resistant screw and barrel are essential due to the extremely abrasive nature of glass fibers.
Packaging & Storage

Ravago Mafill PP-CR C 6044 is typically supplied in 25 kg bags or bulk containers. For optimal product quality, store in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep packaging sealed until ready for use.
